Items appropriate for outdoor storage include lawn equipment, vehicles, outdoor furniture, and other possessions that are not negatively impacted by changing temperatures. Depending on where you live, outdoor storage may not appropriate for storing items like artwork, photographs or documents which are sensitive to humidity and changing temperatures.
Outdoor furniture can also provide storage solutions. An outdoor storage bench can serve as seating in the summer months while doubling as a home for planters, gardening supplies or grilling tools in the off-season. Some outdoor side tables or ottomans open up to reveal extra storage for seat cushions, candles or tools.
When deciding upon an outdoor storage solution, take into consideration whether the items you’ll be storing require the added protection of a building or if an open storage solution like those provided by portable canopies will suffice.
